Westcode Inc. recently opened a new manufacturing facility in Galesburg, Ill.
The plant will help the supplier serve growing freight- and passenger-car component markets in the Midwest, and provide a 24-hour service response.
The facility will produce unitized HVAC units under a multi-year Metra contract and service HVAC units installed on Electro-Motive Diesel Inc. locomotives. Westcode also will use the plant to provide sales and service support to Class Is and short lines.
The company supplies HVAC and door operating systems, leveling and compensating valves, and other rolling stock products.
