advertisement

Because of increasing demand, Wisconsin & Southern Railroad Co. (WSOR) plans to reopen a paint shop in Horicon, Wis.

Car department personnel are lining up shop workers and equipment, and repairing an air compressor and dryer prior to resuming work at the facility by mid-March.

Seven WSOR locomotives will be painted at the facility first before the shop begins to handle contract work, according to the railroad. The shop will paint and/or repair locomotives for Union Pacific Railroad, Marquette Railroad, Electro-Motive Diesel Inc. and CIT Rail.

The shop previously painted locomotives for BNSF Railway Co., Kansas City Southern, Norfolk Southern Railway, UP, the Iowa, Chicago & Eastern Railroad and Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad.
