Women's Transportation Seminar to review California transit programs at L.A. meeting

On Sept. 23, the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), Los Angeles Area Chapter will hold a meeting at the Omni Hotel in L.A. to review several California transit programs.
Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority Chief Development Officer Carolyn Gonot will provide an update on proposed rail projects, such as a $250 million light-rail extension into East San Jose and a $4 billion Bay Area Rapid Transit extension into the Silicon Valley.
In addition, Rick Thorpe, chief capital management officer for Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, will discuss the authority’s current capital projects and future plans for more than $1.7 billion in improvements, including the East Side Light Rail Line and Exposition Light Rail Line.
