Wood-truss manufacturer turns to rail to reduce transportation costs

advertisement

Today, Hesperia Truss Inc. announced it signed a two-year lease on a rail spur at the company’s plant in Hesperia, Calif. The wood-truss manufacturer plans to use the spur to receive lumber and other materials via rail. The company didn’t identify the spur’s owner.

By receiving materials directly from lumber mills, Hesperia Truss expects to reduce annual transportation costs up to 13 percent. The company recently secured a five-year lease for 25,200 square feet of industrial and manufacturing space to accommodate production growth.
