Church & Dwight Co. Inc. recently launched construction on an Arm & Hammer laundry detergent manufacturing facility and distribution center in Jackson Township, Pa., about 100 miles from Philadelphia.

To be completed by 2009's end, the 1.1 million-square-foot plant will be served by York Railway Co., which is owned by Genesee & Wyoming Inc. The 42-mile short line interchanges with CSX Transportation, Canadian Pacific Railway and Norfolk Southern Railway.

In 1999, the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad Co. and Yorkrail Inc. merged to form York Railway.
