Electro-Motive Diesel Inc. (EMD) recently named Frans Zoetmulder regional director of sales for Europe. He will be responsible for diesel locomotive sales in continental Europe and be based in the Netherlands.
For the past six years, Zoetmulder was chief executive officer of Holland railway company ERS Railways and European Rail Shuttle. He previously served as chief commercial officer and chief operating officer for Dutch intermodal company NWM BV, and commercial director for Hoyer-Odfjell. Zoetmulder also held various positions at the Royal Nedlloyd Group.
Since 2000, EMD has sold more than 600 locomotives in Europe. The company's Class 66 locomotive is marketed in continental Europe, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia.
