NMC Railway Systems: Updated tie crane model

NMC Railway Systems has launched an updated model of the NMC CTC08E Tie Crane for its on-track product line. The enhanced model is designed for railroad material handling projects and to effectively handle concrete and wood ties.

Powered by a Cat® C3.3 diesel engine with "Tier 4 Final" technology, the Tie Crane is built to provide powerful lifting capacity for on-track material handling applications. It allows operators precise tool control while working in remote track locations, according to NMC.

As one of the primary products for rail maintenance-of-way applications, the Tie Crane offers increased user functionality with a large cab area for increased visibility, ergonomic joysticks and air conditioning.

"When designing the tie crane, we had the operators and maintenance crews in mind," said Mark Anderson, NMC Railway Systems’ sales manager. "Its design allows operators to place concrete and wood ties with precision due to the greater visibility from the cab which accounts for increased productivity."

Highly maneuverable on track, the Tie Crane is ideal for jobs that require operator accessibility and transport, according to NMC. It can utilize a tie head for tie handling or a magnet for other material handling applications.
