Industry-Railway Suppliers Inc.: Over-the-tie welder's alignment plate system

Industry-Railway Suppliers Inc. recently announced the release of its over-the-tie welder’s alignment plate system, which allows for fine adjustment of rail ends for alignment prior to thermite welding — and doesn’t require removal of the tie plates.

The alignment plates eliminate the need for hammering wedges, which reduces the chances of injuries to railway personnel. Because the plates fit around the tie plate, they are much quicker and easier to install than other models, the company says. 

The company worked with several Class Is to refine and test the design during the product development process, which the company says has resulted in a lightweight, robust, and user-friendly design. The plates are patent pending, made in the United Staates and available exclusively through Industry-Railway Suppliers Inc.
