C-Can Power Systems Inc., manufacturer of the RLW-Series of switching and signaling chargers, offers a 12V, 600-watt signaling charger with Ethernet for railroads looking to reduce service calls and site visits. The Internet of Things (IoT) is changing how we live and work. Up until a little while ago, regular service had to be done on site. That routine site visit to check for alarms would occupy a signalman’s time instead of focusing on more pressing jobs. With C-Can’s RLW 12/600E unit integrated with the site's Ethernet, signalmen can remotely access the chargers onboard monitor for real-time information, and prioritize sites and manage needs centrally. Ethernet connectivity is now available as an option on both of the company's 12V signaling chargers, models RLW12/40E and RLW12/600E. C-Can’s RLW 12/600e does not require proprietary software packages with the "weekly, monthly or annual fees associated with them," the company says. The unit is lightweight — it weighs less than 12 pounds — which makes it easy for one person to install. Visit C-Can Power Systems at Booth #1706 at Railway Interchange 2017, which will be held Sept. 17-20, 2017, in Indianapolis.
