CDM Electronics: Combat-rated cable assemblies

In-field rail and mass transit cable assemblies are in a constant state of vibration and subject to various tensile forces. To address in-use interconnection concerns, CDM Electronics turned to an existing aerospace/military manufacturer test specification developed for cable assemblies subjected to the most demanding harsh-combat environments.

This standard simulates the nonlinear low- and mid-frequency vibration and aggressive in-field tensile forces to which rail end products are subjected.

CDM Electronics offers a wide variety of wire, cable and assemblies that meet this standard, including Semi-Rigid, Flexible, Silverline and RF Jumper cables. By utilizing this manufacturing protocol, CDM helps users of RF cable assemblies avoid the underperformance and mechanical failures that plague these vital communication links today.
