Mobile computer manufacturer Handheld Group has launched its new Android tablet, the ALGIZ RT7. The lightweight, 7-inch tablet is designed to perform reliably for mobile workforces in demanding environments. The ALGIZ RT7 runs the Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) system and offers ergonomic features. The device meets stringent U.S. military standards for protection against drops, vibrations and extreme temperatures. The ALGIZ RT7 also is waterproof and sealed to prevent against sand and dust. A Qualcomm 1.2 GHz quad-core processor powers the ALGIZ RT7 to provide optimal processing speed, ultra-fast connectivity and long battery life. The tablet comes standard with LTE data and voice capabilities, as well as 802.11 b/g/n WLAN, BT Class 1 and Class 2, and NFC functionality. It also features dual cameras (8-megapixel rear-facing and 2-megapixel front-facing), dual SIM card slots, a built-in accelerometer, gyroscope and e-compass, and a stand-alone u-blox GPS receiver for navigation. The ALGIZ RT7’s high-brightness, 7-inch capacitive display is designed for outdoor applications. To enhance data capture, users can choose an optional 2D imager or RFID plus 2D imager.Handheld Group plans to begin shipping the tablet in December, with volume deliveries starting in January.
