LinkUp International: Locomotive hardware kits

Since the inception of positive train control (PTC), LinkUp International has provided locomotive-specific hardware kits that include all the components necessary components to implement mandated PTC electronics. The components include LSI racks, cabinets, cables, wire harnesses, MCU-sized adapter plates, front and rear hold-downs, monitor enclosures, security doors, and roof mounted antenna solutions, along with other custom mounting assemblies.

LinkUp International also provides locomotive surveys, pilot installs, on-site support, problem solving and other support services to help customers find economical solutions to complications that often arise with large-scale PTC implementation.

LinkUp's resident engineering, design, and field services staff work closely with electronic component suppliers, Class Is and short lines to develop proven products that meet all their requirements, company officials said. Every component is designed, produced and delivered in accordance with LinkUp International's AAR M-1003 certified quality assurance program.

Advanced on-site manufacturing capabilities — such as comprehensive metal fabrication facilities, CNC machining, and a high capacity, continuous powder coat line — are employed to provide complete control of the production of all components required to complete the PTC installation kits.

Whether for new installs or retrofits, these combined abilities provide LinkUp International with a unique ability to offer the industry with turnkey hardware kits for the installation of PTC on any locomotive on the road, today or in the future, company officials said.
