Meteorcomm: Wireless communications platform

Meteorcomm’s Interoperable Train Control Network (ITCnet™) is a wireless communications platform that relays mission-critical PTC data between mobile (locomotive) and fixed (wayside & base stations) assets across the U.S. using multiple communication transports (220-MHz radio, IP, cell, satellite and Wi-Fi) to ensure a high level of interoperability and reliability. 

The ITCnet platform includes a core communications system that consists of a 220-MHz radio network (ITCR), a messaging system for the back office and remote devices (ITCM), and a systems management framework (ITCSM). ITCnet software runs on Meteorcomm’s radios that are installed in locomotives, waysides and base stations. ITCnet has been adopted by all Class I railroads, as well as commuter and short-line railroads, in support of a nationwide PTC communications solution.

In addition, Meteorcomm’s professional services team provides a wide range of service solutions for PTC communications challenges. Meteorcomm supports wireless PTC communications with its’ expertise in wireless communications for the rail industry and by working closely with customers to provide the necessary resources to support PTC communications deployment and ongoing operations.
