PS Technology: Cloud-based crew scheduling system

PS Technology (PST) and Rio Grande Pacific Dispatch have announced the first implementation of CrewPro Short Line™, a cloud-hosted and subscription-based railroad crew management system.Leveraging the latest technological advances in architecture, design and construction, the system serves as a subscription-based, flexible platform for crew scheduling. In addition

to handling hours-of-service requirements, the system can handle tie-up, work-list/pool management, seniority move bumps and FRA certification requirements, among many other functions.

Rio Grande Pacific Dispatch (RGP) — the third-party dispatching arm of short-line holding company Rio Grande Pacific Corp. — will utilize PST’s CrewPro Short Line to manage crew calling for the multiple railroads it serves. The system will vastly improve cost savings and accuracy while preventing errors prone to legacy methods used by many short lines, according to PST.
