RailPros Field Services: Mobile app for FRA's 213/214 regulations

RailPros Field Services (RPFS) has released a mobile app for FRA 49 CFR part 213.  The app provides the current regulations in a searchable, easy-to-follow format, the company said. RPFS will continue to provide updates to the app as rules and regulations change.

"We originally looked to provide an easy-to-use electronic version of the FRA regulations to our own team of track inspectors. What we found was a way to use an app to make this available to track professionals everywhere," said RPFS President Johnny Johnson.

When the app was showcased at the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association conference in January, beta testers were "pleased to have the ability to search using keywords," RPFS officials said. Additionally, testers appreciated the convenience of having the app on their phone.

RPFS said that it expects mobile devices to grow in utility and will continue to expand its apps.

The app is available in the Apple App Store and in the Google Play Store. It can be downloaded on all mobile devices.
