Schaefer: Redundant and dual redundant rack systems

Schaefer Inc. has released its redundant and dual redundant rack systems for mission critical applications where high-reliability is essential. Applications include communications-based train control, positive train control, signals, controls and  substation emergency lighting.

The systems' output power package range from 250W to 5000W in one 19-inch chassis using Schaefer's C500 to C4500 Series units. Higher power systems are available upon request. Output voltages include 24, 48, 60, 100, 110, and 150VDC, while input voltages include 115/230VAC at 50/60Hz single phase. Three-phase AC and DC voltages available, as well. Typical installation options include decoupling diode, DC-OK with relay, series diode (reverse polarity protection), current sharing/interrupt, inrush current limiting, increased mechanical strength, tropical protection, and extended operating temperature, the company said.

Mechanical and electrical modifications to standard modules are available upon request. In addition, Schaefer can design and manufacture fully custom solutions.
