Times Microwave Systems: LMR low-loss coaxial cables

Times Microwave Systems introduces a complete line of low-loss, highly shielded RF coaxial cables, prep tools, connectors and lightning protection products to support Class I railroads' positive train control (PTC) build-out.

The flexible, rugged LMR® brand of low-loss coaxial cables offer excellent electrical properties and superior crush resistance, the company says.

The cables can be used in conjunction with the available prep tools and easy attachment non-solder, no-braid trim connectors. Installers can quickly attach connectors to the LMR coaxial cables, which results in "unsurpassed RF transmission performance," according to the company.

In addition to these low-loss cables, Times Microwave also offers a wide range of lightning protection products. The Times-Protect™ series of in-line lightning protectors offer superior attenuation and VSWR performance.

Of particular interest to the PTC market, the BTR series of products offer broadband performance from 50MHz to 1000 MHz in a single unit. The ruggedized brass body and laser engraved markings on each unit offer a solution for the demands of the PTC and rail markets.
