Ad-Trac™ is the newest patent-pending technology from Trackmobile® LLC. The automated system is designed to create additional tractive effort when needed through the use of a sensor-activated third wheel axle. A hydrostatically driven third axle, fitted with rail tires, is outfitted on the Trackmobile. When any loss in tractive effort is detected by the machine, Ad-Trac is automatically activated and the axle is lowered. The system uses the engine’s excess available horsepower by rerouting it through its hydrostatic system, which creates up to 15 percent to 20 percent more tractive effort, the company says. Once Ad-Trac is activated, the system will perform this function automatically with no operator intervention required. “We tested Trackmobile’s Ad-Trac™ option at several different customers for months with challenging environments … and found that the Ad-Trac option for the Titan really delivered," said Jeff Yates, Trackmobile sales manager at Wiese USA. “The fact that it automatically deploys and retracts the third axle keeps the system pulling when you need it and retracted from the rail when you don’t. That alone reduces maintenance costs, wear, and down time on the entire Ad–Trac system.”Visit Trackmobile at Booth #3163 at Railway Interchange 2017, which will be held Sept. 17-20, 2017, in Indianapolis.
