ZTR: Locomotive Interface Gateway

ZTR offers the Locomotive Interface Gateway, (LIG) which can be deployed as a stand-alone unit, fully compatible with other standard hardware and software elements specified in the Locomotive Electronic Systems Architecture (LESA).

The ZTR LIG collects, translates and distributes data from the NEXSYS™ III-i control system to the positive train control (PTC) network in accordance with the Association of American Railroads (AAR) standard. It broadcasts faults to the PTC system to help ensure critical safety management.

The technology is designed to work with the ZTR NEXSYS III-i, and also has additional ports for customizable options and PTC requirements that may arise in the future. The ZTR engineering team is looking for ways to collect from additional data points in the complex architecture.

The ZTR LIG is available in multiple formats to suit varying system requirements: a stand-alone solution, an integrated module on the ZTR ACC system or as a software solution applicable to a module of another ACC-type system.
