Event#RFP403042 - Rail Grinding Services Joint Agency (LIRR, NYCT & MNR) for 2-years with 3 additional 1-year Options. The Long Island Rail Road Company (LIRR) on behalf of itself, Metro-North Commuter Railroad (“MNR”) and New York City Transit (NYCT) hereby solicit proposals from qualified proposers to provide Rail Grinding Services for a term of Two (2) Years with Three (3) additional One (1) year Options. Rail Grinding Services are needed to optimize wheel-rail interface to maximize wheel-rail life span and to improve ride quality and passenger comfort. The successful proposer shall have equipment that is capable of providing Rail Grinding Services and traveling in third rail/electrified territory as well as unelectrified territory. Offerors are advised that the Work may be performed where one or more adjacent tracks have live third rail. The Contractor shall furnish all operating and supervisory personnel, equipment, material, machinery, vehicles and transportation necessary to perform the Work included under this Contract along the rights of way of LIRR, MNR, and NYCT.
