Plasser American Corporation: Dynamic Track Stabilizer - PTS62

Plasser American Corporation

The Plasser PTS62 Dynamic Track Stabilizer PTS62 is designed to apply controlled, accurate stabilizing forces into the track structure at continuous speeds. All track is subject to settling due to traffic loads. This settling occurs irregularly and uncontrolled, resulting in track deterioration. Dynamic track stabilization is a combination of horizontal vibration and a vertical load on the track which accelerates initial settling during maintenance work. Deliberate, accurate settling is achieved with the aid of a reference system. The stabilizing unit is a proven design developed in 1975 with regular use on various railroads worldwide since 1978, the company says.
