During mobile railcar mover crew operation with an operator in the cab, the ground personnel must frequently be sure the mover will not move — while connecting air hoses, for example. To prevent injury and save lives, ground personnel can carry the palm-sized Ground Control System (GCS). Roughly the size and weight of a small TV remote, one button pair activates a buzzer and light in the cab. Another pair of buttons releases the train air for quick emergency stops. The third button set activates and deactivates the Trackmobile service stop sequence. Other buttons may be used for additional functions as desired. Trackmobile's Ground Control System is a critical part of every rail yard's personnel safety system.
