Ellcon offers brakes, Models 33000 and 33000-2 (AAR Group O), designed primarily for freight cars requiring a higher force than that provided by the conventional AAR freight car brake. With its 22-inch pressed-steel hand wheel, it will produce a minimum vertical chain force of 4,475 pounds. The unit has a trip lever and a non-spinning wheel, which enable either quick or gradual release. A shock-retarding device serves as a chain anchor. This is a 1993 AAR-approved brake.
