As the last machine in the surfacing formation, the KDB 600 Double Broom is used for final dressing of the track. Both the front and rear brooms are hydraulically driven, and equipped with 228 solid rubber elements. A patented 45 degree V-style stone deflector on the front broom is raised and lowered hydraulically for simple and efficient element placement. The rear broom has the capability of reversed rotation to allow the operator to sweep away from switches. Patented side mounted ridge plows are spring-loaded to fold out of the way of uneven ties. A fully enclosed cab provides a comfortable environment with ergonomically placed controls.
