Railpower offers two single engine locomotives: a 700hp yard switcher featuring a Tier 4 Deutz or Cummins engine, or a medium horsepower yard or road locomotive featuring a Tier 4 Cummins engine (available upon request). Like the RP Series GenSet locomotives, RP Series single engine locomotives feature the PowerPlus Traction System, which provides individual axle control and 33-percent adhesion in all weather conditions. Specializing in yard, road, and hump duties, these GenSet locomotives out-pull their conventional replacements at low speeds, and allow customers to increase throughput and performance.
