Plasser American Corporation: Ballast Cribber - CR312

Plasser American Corporation

The Plasser Crib Cleaner CR312 is a heavy-duty, long lasting, self-propelled machine specially designed to work under the severest ballast conditions. The CR312 is capable of digging/cleaning out two ballast cribs simultaneously removing fouled ballast on both sides of the ties up to a depth of 10 inches below the bottom of the tie. The CR312 is capable of cleaning up to four (4) cribs per minute. The unique split head design also allows either side to be operated independently. After the machine’s cribbing plates are positioned over the crib and the crib cycle is initiated, the rail clamps engage and the powerful crib plates dig out crib and shoulder material. The cribbing operation can be performed forward or reverse with the same efficiency. The cribbing units are also designed to operate both units to one side of the machine or the other. This allows placement of the removed material to the field side in double track territories. The CR312 is equipped with an adjustable plow on each side of the machine for the removal of shoulder material and can easily be adapted to remove ballast in switches.
