The 8879-RF/CP cable, pipe, and fault locator offers utility locators three active frequencies — 815 Hz, 8 kHz, and 82 kHz — designed to ensure that adequate signal is applied to buried utilities in any environment. Updated transmitter functions include improved transmitter induction, dual-frequency coupled induction at 8 kHz and 82 kHz, and automatic impedance matching for direct connections. Passive 50/60 Hz and RF/CP allow locates of “live” utilities without the use of a transmitter, the company says. The transmitter used optional rechargeable 12.6 volt sealed lead acid battery or eight “D” cells. Made in the USA. Represented by TPSC.
