Stop bolts from loosening. The Nord-Lock bolt securing system is a wedge-locking washer system that prevents bolted joints from vibrating loose. Nord-Lock's wedge action locks fasteners in place utilizing bolt tension instead of friction. It is not affected by heat or lubrication. The sizes available range from #5 to 5-inch in carbon steel or stainless steel. Nord-Lock washers have been tested and prove to hold better than nylon insert nuts, metal lock nuts or liquid thread locking materials, the company says. They are reusable and work with high-grade fasteners.
