Stella-Jones Corporation: Borate/Creosote Crossties

Stella-Jones/BPB Corporation has been providing treated timber products to railroad customers in North and South America for more than 50 years. The company can treat oak, mixed hardwood, or pine crossties, switch timber and bridge timbers with the new borate/creosote dual treatment designed to enhance timber life in high-decay zones of the South and Coastal regions. Treatment can be used on air-dried timber or also can be used on boulton conditioned timber. The company has three treating facilities that offer this new treating option — two in the East (Spencer, W.Va., and Stanton, Ky.) and one in the Midwest (Fulton, Ky.).
