International Electronic Machines Corp. [IEM]: Brake Pad/Shoe Measurement System - WISE

IEM's Brake Pad/Shoe Measurement System (BPMS) is a primary module in IEM's WISE system. BPMS automatically locates and measures the thickness of brake pads and shoes on each passing wheel. Multiple measurements provide greater accuracy by examining several locations on the pad, the company says. Images of both upper and lower portions on each brake pad are captured, registered and measured by IEM's proprietary software algorithms. The Brake Pad/Shoe Measurement System operates continuously in the brightest of daylight conditions, absence of light at night, rain, fog and snow. When condemnable conditions exist, BPMS automatically reports the car and wheel location requiring a change-out.
