Designed for use with rail gangs replacing one rail at a time, the hydraulically operated cemented ballast kribber 21-1 removes both cemented and normal ballast from the tie plate areas. It sweeps material from between the ties to remove ballast from the path of the adzer. When the crib is cemented, a digging wheel loosens and removes the cemented ballast. Sweeping brooms aid in removing material both before and after the digging wheel, regardless of the direction of machine operation.
