Amsted Rail - Brakes

Designed for standard freight cars, Ellcon's Models 31000, 31000-2 and 31000-6 (AAR Group N) hand brakes feature a two-way wheel. Turning the wheel clockwise sets the brake and turning it counter-clockwise releases it. Any amount of setting and releasing can be accomplished throughout the brake's travel capacity. The brake comes with a 22-inch pressed-steel wheel and produces a minimum of 3,350 pounds of force in the vertical chain. Models 31000 and 31000-2 can be instantly and fully released by the quick-release lever. All brakes have a pressed-steel housing, hand wheels and necessary chain travel for all designs of freight car braking. This is a 1993 AAR-approved brake.
