Stella-Jones/BPB Corporation has been providing treated timber products to railroad customers in North and South America for more than 50 years. The company produces crossties at five pressure treating plants — four in the East and one in the Midwest. Crossties can be pre-drilled, end-plated, pre-plated and pressure treated. The company offers the standard creosote treatment and the new borate/creosote treatment designed to enhance the life of ties in high-decay areas of the South and Coastal regions. The company also offers air-dried and boulton conditioned crossties.
