HOTSTART Inc.
HOTSTART's electric idle reduction system is a complete, packaged dual heating system with thermocouples, pump and all required controls. It heats and circulates coolant and lube oil throughout the entire engine and cooling system. The DV heats engines up to 325L displacement at 120 F over ambient temperature. The system features a text display which displays system diagnostics and allows operators to adjust and monitor water and oil temperature. By equipping a locomotive with a HOTSTART engine heater, the locomotive can be shut down, allowing for an easy restart without sacrificing equipment availability.
