The Event Recorder System (ERS) is designed for the adverse conditions of the railroad environment. The system contains the latest Crashworthy Memory technology meeting the latest requirements of the FRA and IEEE, the company says. The system is designed for maximum flexibility, allowing for the retrofit of existing event recorders. An optional Bach-Simpson “alertness device” Train Monitor System (TMS) crew alerter is available. The ERS is complemented with a full software package for downloading, real-time viewing and graphical analysis. The program is user friendly and compatible with the Windows environment. Optional features include a PTC communication link, Remote Download Port (RDP), remote access, GPS, auxiliary (ditch/crossing) light control and horn sequencing. For locomotive “consist” service applications, a Bach-Simpson Priority Alarm System (PAS) feature can be added.
