Kawasaki introduces its new high-speed “efSET,” the Environmentally Friendly Super-Express Train. With Kawasaki's proprietary and innovative technologies, the efSET will achieve service speed of 350km/h (217mph), superior passenger comfort and reduced environmental impact, the company says. Kawasaki says it has an unparalleled track record in the design and manufacture of high-speed trains since the first development of Japan's renowned Shinkansen bullet trains in 1964. Kawasaki is also the supplier of 700T series for Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp. and CRH2 trains for China's high-speed rail system. Based on the sound performance these trains, Kawasaki has built a strong platform in the global high-speed train market, the company says.
