Progress Rail, MOW Division

The Safelok Klip Applicator 8-1 is designed for power application of McKay Safelok rail fastenings. Manually propelled by one track-walking operator, it can apply clips at a rate of up to 800 ties per hour with a minimum of operator effort, the company says. The lightweight unit can be set off the track manually for speedy track clearance and can be used with 100- to 136-pound rail on concrete ties. The machine can reverse to work in either direction and can be adjusted for various rail heights and cants. It has a perimeter frame to minimize the risk of machine damage caused by rough or improper handling, and is easy to maintain and service, the company says.
