ATS designs and manufactures DC and AC propulsion systems with independent axel wheel slip control. We utilize state-of-the-art traction motor control algorithms to actively monitor and minimize wheel slip. Each motor controller receives an input from the axle speed sensor fitted to each motored axle, and then calculates the actual speed of the motor. That information is fed by CAN data messages to all modules on the CAN network which then allows them to make the proper adjustments to the speed reference.
