The Progress Rail Service mobile welder, Series K-920, provides computer-controlled flash-butt welds fast, for all rail sizes and metallurgies, either on-track or off-track, the company says. Integral to its welding head, it also removes welder flash material automatically. Totally enclosed and self-contained, it has the capability to eliminate rail joints, and do normal repairs, insulated joint inserts and closure welding. While exceeding AREMA specifications, the system assures weld repeatability and quality, the company says. And the 90-degree pivot crane provides added flexibility. The company provides full engineering and maintenance support for its mobile welder sale or lease units.
