With its powerful 240-horsepower engine, the KBR 850 Ballast Regulator performs ballast profiling and track sweeping . The cab-controlled, one-pass transfer plow transfers ballast from either side of the track in a single pass. The pivoting-blade plow design allows ballast to be plowed in or out in either direction of travel. Cab-controlled hydraulically adjustable ballast wings are 36 inches wide, and carry ballast in either direction or transfers ballast from the shoulder to the rail. The broom attachment features a hydraulically raised/lowered deflector assembly for sweeping through switches. A 30 mph four-speed transmission is standard, with a shift-on-the-go six-speed transmission available as an option. A fiberglass engine shroud is sound insulating and has large hinged doors for easy engine access. The short overall length and wheelbase facilitate loading and hauling to the work site.
