The LRH-5-SP, with a lifting capacity of 5 tons, replaces jacks or hand lifting tongs, allowing with total safety and easy lifting of rails in order to insert base tie plates, the company says. Individual controls permit independent operation of rail clamps and jacking cylinders by one operator at each end of the machine. The operator controls the lifting rams and the opening or the closing of the rail clamps by means of two manually controlled double distributors, situated at each extremity of the machine. The hydraulic rail clamps are automatically locked when in closed position. The unit is self-propelled at a speed of 3 mph.
