The Model PT-8 tie boring machine is designed for drilling wood ties prior to spiking. Its many applications include drilling standard crossties, switch ties and pre-drilling for grade crossings. Fast, lightweight and easily off-tracked by one person, it comes standard with a traversing trolley to permit work on both ends of the tie. It is powered by an 8-horsepower Briggs & Stratton engine, with a direct drive shaft that eliminates the maintenance and safety hazards of belt drives, the company says.
