The hydraulic spike pullers, Models AS-3 and AS-3M, are designed to pull the toughest railroad spike. The operator can move the machine from tie to tie or from rail to rail on the traversing carriage. The machine is powered by an 8-horsepower engine and can be off-tracked by the operator. The production rate of the unit is about 12 to 15 spikes per minute. It is also adaptable for pulling the hairpin spikes. The AS-3M is provided complete with a motorized carriage.
