David Clark Co.'s noise-attenuating headsets and intercoms are designed to solve communication problems associated with high ambient noise levels frequently encountered in the railroad industry. These headsets, which provide both hearing protection and clear communication, can be tied directly to portable and mobile radios for maintenance-of-way members while still providing communication critical to safety. Headsets can also be tied to the locomotive crew intercom system, allowing crew members to communicate quickly with accuracy and clarity, the company says. The system is modular, allowing total design flexibility. Crew members can interface with the locomotive radio.
