We’ve upgraded our patented “ORANGE” Locomotive Air Conditioner (A/ C) to contend with current environmental and climate changes meeting HIGH AMBIENT conditions of up to 130 degrees.The Orange Non-Inverter Driven Locomotive Air Conditioner. The Orange AC kit has been improved for more extreme heat conditions.The improvements from the ORA-2020 to the current ORA2023 are:Upgraded high-temperature bearings and motor controller, to keep motor heat down in high ambient conditions.Switched to electronic thermostat for better temperature control.Eliminated variable motor speed to shut down motor for less motor heat generation in high ambient temperatures.Switched motor speed control to relay operated.Determined proper charge amount to eliminate over charging in the field.Added more cooling fans and vents in compressor drive module for high ambient temperatures. https://rail.inps.net/locomotive/air-conditioning/
