InsulBoot® is an insulated, pliable, plastic molded boot that can be installed, removed or replaced in minutes, the company says. Used to insulate switchgear and bus bars, InsulBoot is a choice of top manufacturers, as well as the U.S. military and Defense Department. The company uses polyolefin material to make heat shrink tubing to insulate wires and bus bars. The heat shrink process causes the tubing to shrink on a ratio of 3-to-1 from its original diameter, providing a snug fit over irregularly shaped joints, the company says. It is designed to provide electrical insulation, protection from dust, solvents and other foreign materials, as well as strain relief.
