The MTM-QC-1 quality control cart (when powered by the optional Geismar hydraulic power pack, Model DC-5/10-BS) provides a self-propelled material platform with a spike driver mounted spring arm that is suitable for rail and tie replacement programs. The controls are located on the articulated, spring supported, spike driving workhead designed to permit the operator to walk behind the pushcart and move the machine in both directions on the track and drive pre-set spikes on either rail. Standard safety features include four wheel failsafe hydraulic brakes and a single wheel parking brake. The unit is equipped with a disconnect to allow for towing on track.
