Because of the need to reduce air volume to the brake cylinders, Strato has developed an assortment of reducing socket weld adapters, which are inserted into a fitting prior to inserting the smaller-diameter pipe. Then the pipe, spacer and fitting are all welded together. The adapters can be used to reduce the pipe size coming out of tees, unions and standard socket weld fittings.
