SURF-PREP says its railroad track mat is a thick and absorbent barrier mat. The edges form an envelope designed to allow the material to be nailed to the ties without breaking the integrity of the system. This envelope eliminates the oil being washed out of the oil-absorbing center to ground, the company says, adding that the oil-only center allows rainwater to evaporate.
