ZF Sachs Automotive of America vertical and horizontal shock absorbers are designed to optimize ride control of freight cars and locomotives and minimize wear of truck parts. Dampers are available in a variety of sizes with stroke lengths and damping characteristics (even variable) to suit any truck requirements, the company says. The hydraulic design ensures a defined, consistent and long-lasting damping force compared to damping devices relying on mechanical friction. All shock absorbers are equipped with multi-lip seals, super-finished piston rods and low-friction guides. ZF Sachs Automotive of America develops and manufactures all rubber-to-metal components in-house.
